Dead on Winpoor,Eastern woods hunting the Weaver is all that is needed, it holds zero, if I get any shot over 100 yards it is rare. I had the rifle out to my brothers club the other day where they have 300 yard steel set up, once I figured out I had 20" of drop with the light 168 grain target load I was shooting I was smacking the steel every shot.
I did put a 3x9 Zeiss Conquest on it for load development for awhile,once I had several loads worked up I put the Weaver back on, groups were the same with either scope.
