If you bought them in a plastic bag then they're probably factory seconds.
I always stop at the Nosler factory every time I'm in Bend and pick up a lot of seconds. Never have I had a problem shooting seconds on paper or game. Nosler's quality control is strict and seconds many times have no visible defect. I've weighed hundreds of seconds on they've always been right on spec.
I have several hundred Nosler 2nd's in 6.5mm, 140gr.hpbt match bullets that vary considerably in the ogive and metplat, no consistency!
So much for cosmetic blemish's. I call B.S.
