What a day. I can say this I am so proud of this boy, he amazes me every day, why should today be any different than any other in the last 14 years.

We say 11 does this morning and one yote. 7:05 am the yote comes out in center of field 187 yards I hit the fawn bleat he stops and tyler bust him behind the shoulder he runs about 60 yards.

About 7:15 There was a couple of does out about 330 yards, I asked tyler you want to shoot one he was like yep. i said let me stop them. I started blowing as hard as i could on fawn bleat and they stop. I ranged her at 320 yds so i dialed in 5 minutes of elevation and said let her have it. Bang rifle goes off and the i heard that thud sound of the bullet hit. Then i watche the doe run off like it wasnt hit good. I was like crap he gut shot it.

We rode the 4 wheeler out I was like this is the spot nothing tyler say the deer wasnt standing there it was over there. Guess what there lays the doe shot high high shoulder spine. She never took a step. I ranged back to tree stand 305 yards. I was watching the wrong deer. Reason he hit high I had it dialed in for 330 so at 305 yards it was sho0ting 2.55 inches high

I tried to explain to him what a big deal it was most adults havent killed deer at over 300 yards. I joked with him and said it aint hard to join the 300 club when you shooting a rem 700 his reply "you aint lying"
