I think Ed has nailed it pretty well!
I have had a few McMillan stocks for model 70s and was not too fond of the supergrade or the compact. If I was going to run another McMillan I'd look hard at the hunter for a rifle with a decent sized barrel. (not sure I'd do that with a fwt profile)
I've had a few Bansners and like them a lot. I had one on a Fn actioned whelen and it handled recoil very well.
