I have an older straight blade heavy kitchen type Cleaver for that kinda work. I wanted something more for chopping/splitting wood or bone and strictly for outdoor use. Plan on tossing it in glove box of my Ranger or keeping it in cab-mounted tool box of my tractor. It'll never wear out!

.... actually the Hawkbill blade is what attracted me to it. Just don't see too many out there. Makes it kinda unique ... especially with that sweet looking blood groove running through it and huge jimping!
