I've never shot much indoor sport's but I found that using manual shooting running dog's improves on a lot of the photo's I used to get using A. What I do is go out and shoot several photo's in the area I'll be in and check them for exposure on the back of the camera. Once I get what I like, I simply leave it there and shoot.
