Actually, the lack of old powders gave me a warm, fuzzy feeling towards IMR 8208 XBR. Yes, I know it's not the original 8208. But, when I couldn't find other powders a couple years ago, I found an 8 lb keg of the new IMR 8208. Gambled, and won. It works great for me. Perhaps there are better powders, but I get good groups, decent velocity, and it seems to burn very clean. And I've plenty of the stuff
. So, if the old traditionals aren't available, might want to give the newer powders a try.
