I'll second the Boonie Packer that Chris recommended.
Thin, no fuss and has small "threads" of non-slip material that run the length of the strap.

I'll third or fourth the Boonie Packer sling as my first choice for a hunting rifle sling.
Really the only thing I don't like about them is that they're tough to source on this side of the medicine line. When I do find them anymore up here I buy multiples.
That said, I bought a couple of the wider ones and they didn't suit me at all - the 1" or whatever the thin ones are work great for me.
