There is a book, called "Albion's Seed" that shows immigration patterns and voting tendencies. It almost perfectly mirrors what we see today with a few modern variations for Yankee infiltration of places like Florida and Virginia and Southern infiltration of places like Kansas.
Basically, the Yankees spread from New England to the upper Great Lakes regions and then to the West coast. Scots-Irish people settled the South and their immigration settled the West out to Arizona and up to the Canadian border. Now go look at the Blue verses Red states.
We are and always have been two distinct and separate peoples shoe horned into a federal union. The more controlling that union gets, the more trouble there will be.
Exactly. The Yankee/Puritan colonists came here to create their "new Eden", complete with all their rules and edicts for how life should be lived. The Southerners, by and large, came here to get away from that schit back in Europe and to be left the Hell alone.
