I do not really think the magazine detonation to be a problem.

I use Remington 50 grain PowerLokt Hollow Points (PLHP) in mine. Ken Waters was high on the accuracy of that bullet, as do several other accuracy buffs. I like the cannelure. I don't push them really hard . I want the bore to outlast me. Mine was supposedly fired less than 60 times by the original owner.

I have used some plastic tipped bullets in mine before. They feed OK in the Zipper, not so in the Bee as they are too long.

For heavy bullets, use a fast twist .223 or .22-250. I'm sure one could make the lighter bullets humm from a Zipper.

I view the Zipper as a predator/varmint rifle for farm and ranch use, even if accuracy is pretty darn good. I only have access to one small prairie dog town.
We controll it but don't want it shot out.
