Hey. not exactly sure how this works. Just got on.
Been reeding for awile and looked like good place to get info.
Been out of the game for a while. About 20 years.

Going to go hunt deer on the Queen Charlets or Hdigwie or what ever the almighty ruling natives have got the Canadian taxpayer's to rename it as.

Any way. Thought I would spoil myself and got a Sako 85 270 wsm finnlight.
Got it home took out of the box and had a look down the barrel. Saw what looked like a large flake of brass in there. Ran a dry patch through and yes flake of brass. This thing is 1mm X 1mm very thin.

I tried the action and it felt a little stiff and not as smooth as I thought it should be.
I removed the bolt gave it a couple of shots of oil and let sit for 24hrs. Then cleaned excess oil and put back in rifle and cycled several times.
Then removed again to clean excess oil(With dry rag) Noticed metal shavings on rag?

Repeated proses. More shavings.
The action did get a little smoother after this.

My question is. I shelled out over 2K for this thing. Is it normal to have manufacturing crap to this extent in a new product in this price range.
I bought because I thought I was getting the best?
But as mentioned have been out of the game awhile.

Any input you guys may have would be appreciated.
