I was driving to my girlfriend's place in town last night when I noticed the smell of smoke. I was getting concerned when the smoke was getting bad as I closed in on her place. We decided to drive a couple of streets beyond to see what was up. The fire dept was just pulling in and stringing hoses when we arrived. I was able to pop off a few clicks with the D800 and 50mm f1.8d. It was flat out dark. the back of the house was surrounded by a fence and the house was in a gated community that made access difficult for the ladder rig.
I would not buy something that runs on any kind of primer given the possibility of primer shortages and even regulations. In fact, why not buy a flintlock? Really. Rocks aren't going away anytime soon.
