I'm not bagging on kimber 1911s but if you have a budget above $1000, there are much better choices. I've owned jusr about every make from low end springfields to $3000 plus customs. Kimbers are nice and have their place but for me to get interested in one they have to be sub $1000. If you are not ready to step up to a semi custom such as Baer, then a Dan Wesson would be the next best thing. They are just as accurate and run just as well. All tool steel internals and a wonderful warranty if ever needed. All in what you want but just thought I would add my 2 cents
