Carl, yeah that was in Feb. It was in the 40s or so. I waited until after sundown to fire up the stove and it was roasty toasty in there, outside temp in the 20s. I only stoked it lightly due to the dry grass underneath. I'd pile some rocks under it out in the field, to shield the ground from excess heat.

We will just use this near the truck. The smaller ones with a Ti stove look pretty sweet for backpacking. I'm kind of mulling the BT-2, Cimarron, or 4-man tipi for backpacking. For minimal weight, it looks like a guy could get a BT-2 and medium Ti stove for under 5 lbs total.
