Not all tools were made of substances that last as long as stone and not all tools left tool marks.

Yes, we can see this by observing [bleep]'s in the wild where they also use tools. Many of their tools are wooden, and would not survive the ravages of time, and their use of stone tools is often that of a hammer and anvil to crush nuts or other hard surfaced foods.
