Based on good suggestions from members here, I bought a Boyd's Pro Varmint (Tacticool) for my 10/22 Target. (Wanting a good stock for scope use.) The stock fits well enough, but it slightly floats the big, heavy, .920 barrel. The factory stock does NOT float the barrel.

I seem to remember that it is not recommended to try to float that big barrel off of the aluminum receiver. So, my questions are:
1. Do any of you using this stock with this barrel have the barrel floating?
2. Have any of you using this stock with this barrel elected to bed the barrel?

Any other observations, suggestions, or experience would be greatly appreciated. However, this rifle shot well in the factory stock, so I know the barrel is good and I am not looking for any kind of lightweight barrel. I want to use this stock and this barrel. I just want to do a good job of it.

Thanks,
Gun Doc
