Is there a "best source" for longer-barrelled (30" - 34"), small gauge (20 & 28) Perazzi o/u shotguns?
Thanks, RS

Any Perazzi dealer that handles them can place an order with your particular specifications. Finding a 34in small gauge on the shelf may be an issue, however with a little looking 30-32's are out there. Actually not rare to find Perazzi barrel lengths that hit the middle also. As in 31.5in, 32.5in. This fellow could definitely order you one. Ask for Roy. A 28ga on a 28ga frame is almost perfection. 28ga on a 20ga frame is close but not the same. Spending that much, might as well order with the stock dimensions you want also. http://higradeshooters.com/

Battue,
Perhaps you have had positive dealings with Hi-Grade, I had an unsuccessful experience with them and won't try again. They had a 28ga. field Perazzi for sale. I called and asked for the stock dimensions. The gentleman that I was speaking with said, "I don't know, about standard, I guess." I asked, "Could you measure the gun? I'll hold the line." He said, "We don't have any way of measuring a stock." At that point, I wished him good day. Any business offering $10,000+ shotguns for sale that demonstrates that level of ignorance about their wares will not be getting business from me.
Cheers, RS

I agree. However, Roy has always treated me well. Then again I shoot and talk with him on a fairly frequent basis.
Good luck with your search. Have handled a couple 28ga/28 frame long barreled Perazzi's and they are about as sweet as one can find.

Lots of places to look for these guns, several very good dealers: http://www.giacomosportingusa.com/http://www.pacificsportingarms.com/http://www.larrystradingpost.com/http://www.covecreekoutfitters.com/I'll also add that much of this decision depends upon what you plan to use this gun for. Agree with battue that the small frame MX28 is a jewel. However, with barrels longer than about 31.5", it just feels too long to me. As a sporting clays gun, or a high volume dove gun, I'd opt for a heavier gun with 32"+ barrels. The MX8/20 or MX20, either with 28 gauge barrels, feels much better with the longer barrels. These guns weigh more, however, at 7 to 7 1/4#. The MX28 w/ 30s is about 6 1/4.
