Bob,

Nice rifle!

I just picked up a McMillan KS Edge off the classifieds. Have a 1973 Rem 700 in 25-06 with sporter barrel I bought as a donor. Haven't shot it yet... Thinking a Bartlein 2b or Brux 2 or 3 contour, 7mm 9 twist to build a 280 or 280 AI. I currently have a Brux #2 6.5mm 8 twist, maybe a 6.5-06?

Does a Brux #3 fit in a stock with a Rem sporter barrel channel?

Going in an LVSF stock.

Done. Had it in the LVSF stock for a while, but it now resides in the Manners EH3. Has the 6.5x47 Lapua barrel on it now but the 22-250 barrel and .308 barrel are finished and ready to switch out when I tire of playing with the 6.5.

I'm always trying to build ones that are not quite the norm. Not to far off base, but never-the-less, different. Such as a few years back I rebarreled a Kimber Montana to 17 Rem. because they didn't offer a Montana in that caliber and its what I wanted. smile
This year I'm doing a couple of builds. The first one is a Kimber Classic that is being rebarreled to 243. It's a Classic in 7mm08 that shop quite well, but I have another one in that caliber and nothing in 243. Lilja chrome moly barrel using the 84M contour and blued to match the action. While its down everything will be trued up if needed.
The second one is a Kimber Classic Select in 7mm08 that I am restocking in English Walnut. This one is going to take awhile to finish. The inletting is almost finished.

Not quite as nice as some of the others I've seen in this thread, but it is different.....kind of.

I have built an excellent battery of guns over the last half century.

I shoot them frequently and hunt with them also.

Of late I have favored a well made custom 30-06 with an octagon barrel on a Mauser that now has a Dakota safety and a good bolt handle.

I will shoot it again this week along with other rifles that include a 7mm WSM in a Kimber.

I did the rework on the trigger shoe by taking out most of the curve of the factory shoe. Sear engagement surfaces were polished and trued.
I finished the McMillan stock with a texture coat and a flat black coat of Alumahyde II.
A Ken Farrel 10MOA base will hold the optic.
The optic for now is a Burris but that's only until Leupold gets my custom shop order processed....
As she sits the scale says 9#15oz....

I got this 6mm Rem ready to shoot last night. No paint, polish, or bluing yet. If it does not shoot well, it will not get any.
The only things unusual about this build are:

1) The scope was centered ~20 moa low. That is what most snipers want, but not me.
19 moa = 19 minutes of angle = 19/60 of a degree.
sin [19/60] = 0.0055
The front and rear scope mounts are 5" apart.
[.0055] [5"] = 0.028" mounts out of level
I cut 0.028" off the bottom of the rear scope base [Weaver #45] and then a centered scope was bore sighted.

2) I combined the recoil lug with the front pillar. The clamping force of the forward action screw is ONLY opposed through the bottom of the Mauser recoil lug.
