I had a short but brutal period of time where I was stabbing the trigger. It was insanely bad and brought me the the brink of quitting archery. Target Panic as it is often referred to is an archery killer.

I took a class for this at a proshop with minimal success, I lowered the draw weight and did about everything I could find. I read a book by a fella named Bernie ? can't recall his sir name now? Anyway he devised this back tension release system for target panic which I was relieved to hear effects hundreds of archers, it was not some freak problem I acquired.

The Back Tension system did solve the target panic issue about 90%, but there was another little trick that fixed it so far for good. There is a back tension release that has a weight adjustable release setting. You set it to 5-8 pounds over your draw weight. When at full comfortable draw and set on target with the pin you slowly continue to draw the bow and it fires.

Initially I was concerned that this was kinda dangerous to fire the bow without a trigger. It was never a problem and cause me to concentrate only on the target, never on the trigger pull. The mechanism also has a trigger that will bypass the draw fire cycle.

I began to blend the target sessions with some draw fire and some trigger fire. After a while I was just using the trigger release function and I have never used the draw fire "back tension" release again. That has been a long time now, probably 10 years.

Target panic it not the end of the road for your archery, this unique design will solve it, or at least it did for me.
