Paul Moore's classic text on bullet-casting has been reprinted again by
Magma Engineering, with the still unfortunate title of
Handbook of Commercial Bullet Casting. A little of the contents is of no interest to hobby bullet-casters, but the rest is worth more than the price of the book. It's a small paperback. Price is probably still twenty bucks or not much more.
Paul is a metals chemist who specializes in lead alloys, and he casts his own handgun bullets. He's the guy who designed the alloys for Lawrence shot and the Taracorp bullet metals. Also the man who developed the technique (later publicized by a better-known writer, whom many bullet-casters erroneously believe developed it) for heat-treating cast bullets. He flat knows lead alloys and the quirks of casting 'em into bullets, and you can take what he says to the bank.
I have the first and second editions of his book, and if the new printing is a revised edition, I'll get that one too.
Get it.
Don't wait.
