Don't hear them often here, I think they've learned to keep quiet.

The foxes are a different matter, they make some racket down in the coulee next to our house. Wakes me up just about every night.

oh
about 2 weeks after the yote with the fawn in its mouth incident
I was out squirrel hunting after turkey season got done
and was walking railroad tracks

seen some movement about 25 yds away

it was a fat little yote pup
probably about 10-12 weeks old

little fugger started running
just like a fat little dog pup trying to get up some speed
I took a shot at the little fugger without no hesitation and was about 6 inches behind him kicked up dirt and leaves

cycled the bolt again and shot behind that fat little fugger again

I started laughing about it and wished I would have gotten the little fugger just to take a picture of and post on here about the circumstances surrounding and leading up to me whacking the little fugger
he was one lucky little Muldoon that I don't have a spray and pray semi auto .22 or was using my shotgun at the time

Hear them all the time at my place. My son has bagged three of them this summer trying to get into the goat/rabbit enclosures.

I hear the smart ones, once in a while. The dumb ones have been caught.

I've heard them from my house, but not on a regular basis. One night a couple of years ago I was coming home at around 6:00 PM, and one crossed in front of me. Considering where I saw him, he had to have been in my yard.

Can hear them every night. Sometimes right behind the house. Don't see them very often or there would be less of them around.

I put up this scarecrow (scareyote, scarehawk) to try to ensure this pup got big enough so that she wouldn't get carried off.
She made it.

I don't hear them regularly but they are there. I have to many friends that have lost calves. I do see foxes quite often, I leave them be because they eat my neighbors chickens,,, my neighbor is a pos.

Between the owls and the coyotes there aren't many full nights sleep around here, but I'll trade it for gun shots and amberlampses any day.

Had a pack of 13 a few years ago, but they are gone now, for some unknown reason. wink

We have bear each year when the apples ripen outside the bedroom window. That's sporty. A few nice blacktail bucks eating the roses this year.

have a pack that sit on my tool shed porch and yodel most nights. my labs just growl and snore. saw a pup running down the forest service rd that fronts my property about 2 weeks ago. so small I thought it was a cat. chased it down and cornered it by a culvert. poor little tyke didn't know if it should shizzzz or go blind. let him go into the culvert.

Across my road in the cow pasture a few nights a week, a few a couple hundred yards behind my house, another pack about 500 yds east, more often if the firehouse 2 miles away dispatches their vehicles. I've found tracks beside my garden but they don't stop 'n eat they are headed to my neighbors free-range chickens.

Every night. When I have steers out front they come up close to the house in the cold months to get a hot meal. Keep a 22-250 AI next to the front door. None get a pass
