Does anyone have any experience with this particular model? My main reason for not wanting a T 3 is that the stock just doesn't fit well, the Lite Adjustable just might work though. We got a T 3 Lite in 6.5x55 for my wife and it has been very good, thankfully it fits her well and the light recoiling 6.5x55 is fun to shoot for me when doing load development but the same gun in a magnum wouldn't be fun. Thinking of a 300 Win Mag to turn into a 308 Norma for myself, I miss my old 308 NM a lot.
One a side note we have been so impressed with my wife's gun that I am thinking of getting her a second one in either 270 WSM or 30-06. For her we would get a stainless Lite in left hand, we must have been a match from heaven since we are both left hand shooters lol.
From what I have been told the stocks are the same with the exception of the Cheekpiece. That being the case why not put one of these on a T3 and then you can lay a piece of foam such as sleeping bag pad and not only build the cheekpiece to fit you but have a place to store an extra Magazine etc. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=allen+buttstock+pouch&_sop=15
I have them on all my rifles, they are very tight fitting being adjusted by velcro instead of elastic. And priced great.
Hi Gerry, Tac Pro makes an adjustable cheek piece for the T3. Can buy them through Coretacsolutions.com actually they have lots of good stuff for the Tikka T3
I have one on a .260 Rem model 700 and it is a nice quality piece for a very reasonable price.
On another note, It may save you some $$ to find someone with a WSM or 30-06 T3 and have your wife shoot it. There is a significant recoil difference between those and a 6.5 Swede in a lightweight rifle such as a T3.
Unless you intend to install a brake, she may be better off with the sweet shooting, minimal recoiling Swede.
Cheers!

The Tikka T3 in .308 Winchester is the Glock 19 of the rifle world.
Here is a picture of a Karsten on a T3. I'd taken a little off the bottom to save weight. It was so little, and I lost some adjustment range, it was a mistake.
I've had these on five rifles. I really like them. Just be sure everything, including removing the bolt, is right before you drill the stock.

I too have been looking at the T3 Adjustable as it comes in LH and the compact doesn't. The website states that the ADJ is also adjustable for LOP, but my google fu has not turned up how short it can go. Anyone have that info?
