My wife had to deal with a problem bear in the yard, her 300 Savage dropped him like a bad habit. 300,000 salmon in the river and this fellow breaks into our smokehouse,, Tar our KBD keeps us apprised of the bear situation !

Looks like an old bear. Judging from a lot of the posts around here you had better be careful when you go out again that bear will come back to life since "everyone knows" you need at least a 375 to kill a bear

Remind me to never try to sneak into your smokehouse..... .. Nice bear though...Glad the partition worked even at such low velocities...
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Guess I won't have to worry about the 300's effectiveness on elk!

[/URL] Somebody needs to watch for the big bear hide with the “poodle cut/shed” on the F&G auction at Fur Rondy. (Ain’t it fun to do the skinning for F&G?)

Wow! Your wife's courage and ability to place her shot is impressive! Kudos to her.
A bear that size would freak me out.

waterrat I guess the old saw about dogs and fight would apply here, it's not so much about the size of the club it's how well you use it. Congratulation to your wife and her shooting. Cheers NC
