I know it may be a long shot, but I've had pretty good luck with those on here.........  Any chance anybody has a new, or like new, S&W Model 629 unfluted 44 Mag cylinder laying around? Brownell's sells them, but have had them backordered for a while, so I thought it wouldn't hurt to check here. I'd prefer the new style, like shown in the picture. Have you considered buying a 629 Hunter and selling yours? There would be a cost of fitting a cylinder in a frame associated with buying a cylinder. That expense would help reduce the overall cost of getting what you want.

Problem is, my gun is a 4 inch, which is what I prefer for a belt gun.

There was one on GB last night with a cracked frame and being sold as a parts gun... had a lot of offers, don,t know if it is still available or not. don't know what caused the crack or whether it effected the cylinder or not but would be careful with it.

Seems I lucked out. I called S&W today, and they literally had ONE in stock. Even better, it was even cheaper than the Midway or Brownells price.
