True to form the Colorado CPW screwed up it's online license sale again this morning. OTC and OTC w/cap were suppose to go on sale at 9 AM. There wasn't even a capabilty to select an elk tag. Later, a message came up that sales were to be starting at 10 AM.That came and went and then another message came up to say sales would be at noon. I was finally able to by one about 12:15.

In private industry, these people would be fired

All you guys complain for no good reason.

I cant wait to enjoy the 3 fishing licenses I've been charged for this year for a week in November where the temperatures will probably be well below freezing. I think ill fish across from the wardens station with 3 poles and see what happens.

Guys will put up with a lot of government sponsored crap to hunt elk.

During the leftover license debacle on August 4, I called 152 times trying to get through to the license phone line. Through some investigation of my own, I have discovered that CPW uses a vendor (lowest bidder) to deploy its licensing.
The vendor is ACTIVE SPORTS out of (of all places) Dallas, TX. ACTIVE NET runs the phone lines, and probably the internet mess. I have written the CPW Communication Center Hunt Planner and complained.

More emails would be helpful...

I have vented with ACTIVE SPORTS who merely put me on ignore and pretends to answer my problem.

I wrote to the Wildlife Commission and complained. Last year, my pleas went nowhere.

Some of you fellas who are close to Denver should attend a commission meeting and demand change. The price of licenses (even resident) are disgusting when dealing with this type of "service".

Alamosa- i finally pulled in a Unit 79 cow tag- what did you get?

By the time I got through there was nothing left I was interested in.

I'll still do my first choice (A-List) hunt with my buddies but one of the things I've enjoyed about living here is that I could usually pull a late season bull tag someplace. I enjoy hunting alone and looking for those reclusive bulls even if the odds are long - or maybe because of that.

Maybe this year instead I'll get after the roosters, or leftover WY antelope, or some extra waterfowl weekends.

It is truly disgusting what has happened since DOW was in charge.
