I've killed a large hog with one, and the bullet did quite well. After I'd seen how they did on deer I didn't hesitate to pull the trigger on porky.

We shot Sierra 125's by the hundreds when I was a high school kid, and in college.. Mostly at chucks with our 30-06's .. My room mate in college killed a huge whitetail with his 06 and 125 Sierra's our Junior year.. I killed a small whitetail years later with the same bullet out of a .300.. No problem.. Also used the 125 NBTBT out of a long barrel .300 on an antelope.. A bomb.. Hair flew 15 feet in the air!!! I was actually hunting for coyotes when I spotted the freak head.. Out of an 06, it might have been fine..

125 gr Sierra ProHunter or Speer 125 TNT; 50 gr of IMR 4895, Win LR primer. Consistent sub MOA accuracy at 100 yards with three shot groups in my Model 70. Low recoil.
Same results with the 125 Nosler Ballistic Tip and 52 gr of RL15.
Best I recall all were 2900/3000 fps.

120 BT made a believer out of me in the 7mm magnum. The 125 .308/30-06 at 2900 fps is not much different. Low recoil good for kids, girls, old men, etc.
