Any issues using wipeout bore cleaner in a direct impingement AR? Any issues with wipeout getting into the gas tube?
Looking for 1st hand experience. Thanks.

I use Patch Out with Accelerator. It's the same thing. Just doesn't foam.
I've left it in the bore of bolt guns for three days when it's inconvenient to finish cleaning without issues. The manufacturer says it'll work for 24 hours and is safe to leave in your bore.
If you're worried about the gas tube, hit it with brake cleaner when you're done.
The one thing that bugs me is copper builds up on the barrel threads underneath the crush wash and flash hider. There's no way you're gonna get a white patch without blue.

You can get white patches if you learn to shoot the AR without threads on the end.
Of course thats the main way to put a can on. Beyond that I've never found a great use for threads on an AR and any of the other things that hang off the muzzle generally. Granted if you are trying to get the fastest follow ups in competition, and brakes are allowed it could be difference between win and loose.

I had issues with my ARs when I used Wipeout. I quit using Wipeout and replaced the gas tubes to fix function problems.
