Go back to bed. It's not here yet. You can't grunt and rattle until October. DUH!

I belong to two gun clubs, now. elsewhere, the acorns are like carpet under the oak trees, squirrels are running wild. apples are laying everywhere. the deer are fattening up, velvet is drying. the time is now, to get loads worked up, scope screws tightened clothes washed(sort of),brush saw and hunting knives sharpened. scouting trips are in order, with these temps, the mosquitoes will be way down. if your going to apply for an antlerless tag, going to have to buy your license in the next week or so. schools starting in a few day. Id say its here.

I saw 6 bucks on my way to work this morning. 4 were together, all BIG velvet racked 8pts. It's been a while since I've seen bucks around. Funny enough, I got the email I was drawn for the Anoka Co. Park hunt as well. It's not here yet though...Got a few months. Temps will be in the 90's yet this year. But GG is right, it's coming...it's not here yet. I've not yet torn up coat rack, but I did chase a few interns around the office.

I went past my bow hunting spot a couple days ago and there was a doe standing on the folk's front porch eating flowers out of a planter. I'm afraid I might have to take the collars off them over there before I shoot them.

Great post.
Was 47 degrees here Monday morning.
Went up into the woods this afternoon and added some branches to a ground blind I use, (can't fall out of it.)

Got my son's wedding to get out of the way here in a couple weeks, and then I can get back to focusing on hunting. Chomping at the bit to get out in the woods.

You're not helping! I put up a trail cam in the woods in early July. I've been thinking about that trail cam for weeks now. 2 reasons.... 1 - is it still there since it's on public land? 2 - are there any deer on it? It's probably just bears and wolves but I can't wait to see what's on it. There were a fair amount of tracks on in the area when I was there so I'm impatiently waiting until Saturday afternoon to go get it! Once small game season gets here in mid-September, my mind will full blown lost.

Now,now! There are still plenty of flies and mosquitoes. Bugs. Need to die, leaves need to fall, and grouse need to die. THEN it will be time.
