Sell your Fool's gold and buy the S&P 500.

We are now looking at a way overdue health restoring correction. This is a gift horse buying opportunity. Don't sell the ranch but put in every investment dollar you have. Right now.

This not to say the market will not go somewhat lower but I say buy now on this magnificent opportunity and if it dips further BUY MORE.---Spano

Yep, time to make your shopping list and check it twice.

When investing in the Stock market I just buy the S&P or the Total Market through Vanguard. I very seldom buy individual stocks.

For the savvy there are some individual picks out there that are bargains.

If you have kept some powder dry it is a buying opportunity. But don't overdue it.
The Board of Governors are in Jackson Hole this week searching for the time to announce a rate increase. Its been 0% for about 7 years.
GDP +3.7%, inflation low, oil low, some tepid job growth - they may put if off 'til December?

And dont worry about the 35% increases in health insurance costs we will see in 2016, it will stimulate the economy. wink

The Fed will probably not increase but if they do it will be 25 basis points which will not at all disturb anything.

I'm thinking the Market has a 25BP hike priced in and it will make not a noticeable ripple.

I'm betting no increase at this time.

Time to buy.

baring a total breakdown, it's pretty simple. go to cash and get maybe 25bips, or 1/4 or 1%
or, pick any number of choices paying 3 to 4% and have paid dividends for years.
Let me think real hard here now.

What's the increased interest cost for a .25% increase on $18T?

It is irrelevant what you think. What matters is the TRUTH.

The immediate cost is zero. The increased cost come later as we roll over the debt.

For the equity portion of your portfolio I suggest the Total Stock Market or the S&P 500 bought through Vanguard. Very low fees and easy to do business with.

I've been with Vanguard for 30+ years and am enjoying life in the "Land of Critical Mass".

Thank you Bob Brinker.---Spano

There will almost certainly be one more pullback, probably slightly below the last bottom, and then it'll be up from there again. That's the typical pattern.
