Is that a Brown Pounder? Did Rock dupe the KS contour? You did a nice job on that one! But the BDL metal is a dead giveaway!

Scott the horse is a mule and he is on grass!
No the Rock is a #2. Just about a KS contour. Not a pounder it was 28 oz.
Wish I knew how to do the build. I'm lucky to mount the scope and tighten guard screws. I'm just that handy.
I bought the stock on here from C_ROY inlet for the BDL metal
I'm liking this one. Going to shoot it on paper tomorrow or Saturdy.

That is kind of the million dollar question. I may be taking it on a coues deer hunt and want something that opens really quickly and dumps energy in the deer and not in the dirt behind him.
Thinking on 140 VLD's, SST's ?

I'm liking exits on my coues these days...
Depends on country and terrain though.
My coues rifle is very similar to yours, a .280 Ackley. I'm running a 140 Accubond at 3,150...

Nice. I'm a fan of the Rock #2 in 280ai. Mine does well with most anything but lately it's been 150BT's.

Very nice. I'm working on my 2nd 280AI right now. My first one loves the Barnes 145LRX. It's a little softer than the original in my opinion. Might be good Coues medicine. I'm getting 3150 with it.
What colors are the Cerakote for stock and metal?

I have some OLD 139 Hornady Pre-interlock and am thinking an old standard cup and core might be just the ticket. They certainly work for me in .243, .257, and .277. I have been fortunate to take 10 coues deer over the last 12 years and find that softer bullets work for me. I'm certainly not against exit holes but prefer most of the energy being dumped inside.
Thanks for the comments and suggestions on bullets.
The stock is Tungsten but I can't remember the color on the metal?

Very nice rig.
I am thinking the 120 Nosler BT would be mean medicine on a coues deer.

My similar Borden 280ai build should be ready in a month. I am pre loading some 150 TTSX with N165, 140 and 150 BT's with IMR 4831 and N165, will also try some RL 19 and 22. My gun will have a Hart#3 24" and a Rem Sporter McMillan Edge fill. Guessing will come in a tic under 7lbs. Will prob top with a 3-15x44 Swarovski or a 3.5-12 x 52 Kahles. I think the Kahles is a better scope but is slightly heavier.

Your Borden sounds like a nice build. I'm pretty happy with the Kahles, for my eyes it give up nothing to Swarovski or Zeiss and in fact maybe a little better as far as resolution edge to edge but I'm an old man so don't trust my eyes.
In the end I'm the only one that has to be happy with it. This 3-9 is right at 13 oz.

Nice rifle Mike !
My 280ai is kind of heavy and shoots great with the 162 gr. amax . That bullet flattens small deer and pigs , quite a bit of blood shot meat though.
