I chronograph the 6mm-06 load today. Barnes 80 gr TTSX, 52 gr IMR 4831, Fed 210M, Hornady Brass, OAL 3.101. Barrel length 24 inch's. Average of three shots at around 10 yards. This the middle of the book load using 240 Wby Data.

Good deal. I can get 3400 with a 22" vanilla .243 so I suspect you can go up a bit more. Looks plenty accurate....

This load is two or three grain under the max load for the Barnes 85 gr TSX in the 240 Wby. I started low and it shot so well I just decided to use it instead of working up to a faster load. This load shows zero pressure signs. I really don't think a couple hundred ft faster will make that much difference on a Whitetail Deer.

Ditto, no problem with 80's and Hunter powder in a 243.

May bump up the load to 54 gr's and see how it groups and what increase I get in vel.

240 Wby data seems a bit low for a 6mm-06.

240wby is approximately ~5% less capacity then 6mm-06. I used 240wby load data to start on with my 6-06

increase the powder charge .5g at a time, load one shot and one shot only, increasing the powder charge till you see pressure signs, and STOP. Stand the cases on the their mouth in a case guard. This way, you get a very clear view of the pressure as it increases.
You will see the primers be round, then start to get square on the edges, then the lettering will start to get thinner on the case head, then very slight case head scuffing on the high side of the bolt face, then increased bolt lift on real hot loads.
I use new brass for this type of new development.
The accuracy load is almost always within 2.0g of what you find is the max load for that barrel.
I would expect that your 52g load to not be very stable at such a minimal powder charge.
I get those same speeds out of my Remington 700 in 243 with a 24" barrel.
The above load development technique will take the fear out of your load development.

I bumped the load up to 53 gr of IMR 4831 and here is the chronograph results from one gr increase and no other change. Now I will have to group and see if the group stay the same got better or worst. Average of three shots at ten yards.

I like the Hornady 87 gr BTHP and In my 6mm Rem and it is the most accurate bullet I have used and my rifle shoot clover leafs consistently with Win 760, but I just don't trust this bullet on Whitetail Deer, comes apart to quick great coyote bullet tho.

bea175,
I don't know what twist rate you have, but if it's an 8.5 or faster, do yourself a favor an pick up some 105 Hybrids or VLD's and a pound of RL-25. The results will surprise you. If you truly wan't to take advantage of the 6-06, you need to run the heavies. There's not enough difference between the 6-06 and 243 when running light bullets. You're just burning a whle lot of extra powder for very little gain.

52.5grs of H4350 gets me 3590 with the 85gr Barnes TSX out of my 10 twist 25" 6mm-06 using WW brass, the same load chrono's 3570 with Nosler 25-06 brass using CCI 200. The Nosler brass is 7 grains lighter than the WW brass.
I have yet to try the 80 gr TTSX but don't expect much difference velocity wise.

My 243 Win and 6mm-06 both have 1&10 and my 6mm Rem I built with 1&12

Maybe you can stretch it to 20 yards.
