Looking ll over for some powder to load 45 LC and have not had any luck at all. I would like to get some AA-9 or 4100 but I can't even find Unique. So, where is the best place to buy powder on line. I know I am going to pay for shipping and the Haz-Mat charge but sometimes you just have to do what you gotta do. New gun inbound, brass and mould on the way, got plenty of primers but without powder Shooting just isn't fun. cry

Handgun powder is still miss or hit. I'd look at local gun shops and see what you can find. I also wouldn't be hung up a particular powder, find something close and make due until you can get what you want. I just picked up some 700-x from Cabella's as it's the only faster pistol powder I've been able to find locally in the last couple years.

Grafs does not have what you want but do have HS6 and IMR 4227, both excellent powders in the 45 Colt depending upon where you run your loads.

Brunos Shooter Supply has A9 in stock and a bunch of others that would work in a 45lc.

Thanks guys. I know where there is a bunch of H4227 and think I will play with that for a while. I would hate to have a new gun and not be able to shoot it and I have a thing about not buying factory rounds. Don't want to break my record of not buying a factory centre fire round in over thirty years.

Cabelas over in Tualatin had some pistol powders when I met Mack5511 up in Potland last week for dinner...( sorry you didn't make it)....

BiMarts are also afloat at some store locations on 4227...

I've been trying it in the 357 and 38.....its accurate, thats for sure... will have to try it in my 45 Long Colt...

Powder Valley is the first place I look if I'm going to order powder. I try and get a few friends on board to order powder, and help ease the hazmat charge.

We're about even on that, close to 30 years. I've run through a number of guns that have never eaten a factory round.

Lee mould 255 gr flat nose will be powder coated. Looking to hit somewhere between the light Colt loads and the heavy Ruger loads and hit somewhere around 1100 fps. Would like to fill most of the case to avoid any of the position sensitivity problems. If I cannot fin the Accurate powders I am thinking about H4227.

Me neither. I'm kicking myself because our Cabella's brought in some for last Thanksgiving and I didn't make haste to buy some.

As soon as I see powder valley has the powders I want in stock I'm going to order 50# to max out what one can ship with a single haz mat package and be stocked for some time.
