And another question. I noticed there is a little play between the prop and the housing, maybe 1/2" of movement. I did some research and found a thread on another board where a guy noticed similar on his motor and a "tech expert" said this is normal and was designed for increased thrust in reverse.

"If you have a cone in front of the nut the slop is normal. When you shift into reverse the prop slides back allowing the exhaust to exit in front of the prop instead of over the blades for higher reverse thrust"

True or BS?

This generally indicates restricted passages, maybe due to salt buildup from running in sea water (if the impeller is fresh).
