The dogs have been going nuts the past few nuts, not just critter deer nuts, but mean I need to eat your ass nuts. Set out the camera yesterday. The apple eaters are back. They were under the tree for almost an hour straight last night eating apples and off and on back after that.

They show up around here to clean up the moldy peaches that fall to the ground. Grey foxes too.

It's sometimes amazing what critters will eat. I wouldn't have thought coyotes would eat apples, but then again, I've seen wolf chit that was full of sweet cherries that had been put out as bear bait.

I picked up enough pears to fill a thirty gallon drum and took them to the lease for the deer. Dang 'yotes ate them all.

Coyotes will eat anything if hungry , even tho apple are better than most of their meals.
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

Cool what all animals do and eat. Love to watch the yotes around at times, they sure are entertaining hunting mice and such.
We keep the numbers in check though, just like we do with our deer.
Around here yotes eat the corn out of the feeders all the time and the protein pellets that fall too
They actually do a decent job keeping our coons somewhat in check too.
I know they eat the heck out of cantaloupe and watermelon too... they don't do it now that the garden is in the front yard, but when it was 200 yards away from teh house the yotes and coons could clean those up pretty good. Of course the deer love watermelon too. And won't let me grow a sweet potato at all...
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....

when I was a kid we had a fox terrier wire hair that loved eating mango pit's. he would clean them completely till they were white. Another dog, a lab, would also eat them, but didn't seem to enjoy them as much.

Coyotes love apples. It is one of the best baits for them.

Funniest thing I saw coyotes eat was the red, ripe chili peppers they grow in NM... You could tell that lots of coyotes were getting plenty of fiber by the red mounds of coyote crap that dotted the land in any direction of those pepper fields... They will eat about anything. Only thing I ever saw eat a dead coyote was another coyote.

THough never seen it for myself, heard of coyotes "rolling" watermelons out of a field into wood line to eat them.

most canines are actually pretty omnivorous....cats are what tend to be hyper-carnivores but even they sometimes surprise you.....
