Not sure, if he is gamey at all I will make jerky and sticks out of him. Half and half with pig makes just about anything edible. LOL

Holy schitty weather, Batman. Finally got a break yesterday around noon. Couldn't call, but were able to get to a bunny spot. Auto's rule.

Nice one Nate.
MT. must be over run with rabbits, meaning there must be plenty of predators as well. Can't wait for calling season to kick off.

Seems to be plenty of birds, bunnies, and dogs. Deer and pronghorn still seem pretty slim though.

Pink rifles rule..... Borrowed this'n from one of the girls, so as to give the LRHS a little run before it goes atop the Montucky. 215 yards.... .14 BC @ 1050fps.... makes +8.9 MILs from a 40yd zero, and a 1.5 MIL wind hold. In one ear, out the other. Going long with UBER glass on a .22lr is too much fun....
You better pray to the God of Skinny Punks that this wind doesn't pick up......

First day calling this year. I finally broke down and bought an e-caller. I went with the Foxpro Banshee. The first call they sent has been pretty pathetic. It is 50/50 if the remote is going to work, if I did manage to get the call to start playing there was 90% chance that you couldn't stop it or change the sound. One call to Foxpro and they are sending a replacement call. Sh*t happens and they took care of it. No complaints there. This one came to the old fashioned open reed call. Sako 222 and 50 gr V Max.

Called this one in with a old fashion reed call. 55 grain FMJ in the ear. [img:center] [/img]

Had an UBER hunt yesterday morning.. Set up my Foxpro and starting playing ki-yi's, within 10 minutes there were two dead coyotes laying about 50 yards out. Hit the first one's shoulder and blew him up pretty bad, but the other just had a .224" hole poked through on both sides. Nash killed one yesterday evening by spotting and stalking, but I haven't uploaded the pic yet. He shot it at 315 yds with the dogleg triple deuce....

John, I put 20 bunnies in the cooler ( all I cared to dress and cut up.) Already had 30 something in the freezer, so Im set! But I don't ever remember better bunny hunting. I shot those 20, had twice that many get away before I could shoot them, then counted 31 more on the way out I could have shot from the truck... The bad news is that next year will probably be the low point in their cycle. I hope I'm wrong....

I went out and made my annual round talking to ranchers and securing permission for the upcoming season. The conditions were too good not to make just a couple of stands in the morning, and I found action on the 2nd stand, so I called it good for the day for the callin'.
