Sweet!
Where did you find that? I thought Ruger only made the 4" Redhawk in .44 and .45 Colt. Or is it a custom?

Oh great! Just when I thought I had all the handguns I needed.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

Oh great! Just when I thought I had all the handguns I needed. ...my thoughts exactly...never works out that way however.. I am waiting for my "I hate you" from Ron and Idaho Shooter... Just found out about these last Sunday over on the Ruger Forum. They are a Davidson's Exclusive limited production but don't know how many are going to be made. Immediately emailed my pusher...I mean dealer...and on Monday he called and said he had placed the order but they were out... New shipment came in Tuesday and picked mine up this morning. The above pic is the first cylinderful. The DA is very smooth but initially there was one burr at the end of one of the DA strokes. Shot #1 just happened to hit that chamber and is one of the two holer over the left eye. 2-5 are between the eyes and as shot #6 was breaking a 20 mph gust of wind caught me and the shot landed in hole #1. That was 15 yards DA with the favorite 210 Berry's Plated with 8.0 grains of Unique 950 fps. Fit and finish of this gun is EXCELLENT. The SA is no S&W but I am sure it will break-in in time. What is nice also is that the front sight is the pushbutton to remove type vs. the pinned on ones the 4" guns initially got. I had a 5.5" many moons ago and sold it mainly because I didn't like any of the grips available at the time. These new Hogue Bantam grips fit me ok...not great but ok... Also shot up a bunch of OLD 210 Remington SPs...velocities were all over from 1070-1403... Yesterday I shot up some Winchester and Remington 210 LSWC Police loads out of a 4" Model 58... Winchester ran 966 and the Remington 927...so 8.0 grains of Unique is right on the money for duplicating the original Police load. If you are a 4T1 lover you better get one while they are available... Bob

Bob I saw that, not sure who it is, i think he is peddling them through that ruger forum. The sad part is that i do have a in the box blued redhawk dating back a number of years. in 41magnum. I have not shot it much not sure why other than i like the smiths. But i did buy one of these in 45colt, and after a spring changeout and working it pretty good, it has tamed down. They are bulky however. I bought a simply rugged pancake for it, no strap, and it sits really well in it. Simply rugged is in prescott too. I would imagine this to be a prime candidate if i wanted to burn some hot loads. I have to or should put it that way check sights on a rifle this weekend as deer is coming up next weekend. I have some of the copper coated projectiles at 8grains loaded up that i was gonna fire. I can say one thing they are purty.

I do know that a .41magnum kills elk pretty good. I'm debating right now what to use on a deer. I shot a buck last year with a .270, and i think it almost bounced off him. More than one choice, but i was thinking of a 350rem mag downloaded to around 35whelen. or another rifle friend of mind said wasnt' good pass 100 yards. a 760 carbine with 220roundnose loaded to 30.40kraig specs. I should have shot the deer last year with the .41. He was at about 75yards and it could have been done. the guy in chandler changed out the grips something called nils i think which i am not familar with. Davidson's is in prescott i mentioned, they are within walking distance of a home i had, I worked on the loan to build the building for somebody else before they moved to town.

Nill grips are VERY expensive replacement stocks from Germany. I have a set on one of my .41s that came off a 5" 27-2 I bought last year...and sold off the 27...
Keep telling you if you would divest yourself of all those inferior calibers you would have money to burn....

A bit of a tank for a 41 but a fine piece nonetheless.

I like it too! And the Speed Loader too!
And no....I do not hate you.
Where in the world did you find the Speed Loader for the Ruger, or does it interchange with the 57?
I have spent too....too much money farming this summer. And while I am greatly intrigued by the Redhawk, alas I will have to admire it from afar.
If you really want to see me cry, show me a 657 Mountain gun real cheap right now.
I have never handled a redhawk. I bet it feels beefier in the hand than the N frame?

the enabler can tell you all about 657's. A couple of years ago i got this email about a 657 in a pawnshop locally that was advertising it on gunbroker. Didn't take long. the disclaimer is i don't regret it. the redhawk has a different feel too it. I haven't seen this one yet, but i have 45 colt version, and from memory a 70's vintage blued blackhawk. Springs had been replaced in it. It just feels different than a smith, not worse per se, but different. It does give you the feeling of being solid tho.

Ron,
Once upon a time I owned a single handgun. A SBH hunter in 41 mag. Then I met Bob face to face. Soon thereafter, I found myself wandering into every gunshop in the valley asking about DA 41's.
Soon I discovered that a six inch 657 had followed me home.
I really wanted a four inch, but thought I could have this one shortened for a reasonable fee.
One of these years when I am bit more flush with cash, I will begin actively pursuing that "Unicorn like" 657 Mountain Gun. The six inch 657 will go to my son or one of the grand sons.
And you were aware, I think, of Bob informing me, from his home in NH, of a Taurus Ti Tracker in 41 for sale.............in Nampa Id, 30 miles from my house.
That is how I met Caribou Jack.
It is with a wry grin that we refer to Bob as "The Enabler".

Hard to find a more "Hell for Stout" .41 than that.
