Special Operations Association Gets
Special Support

Two all-American-made companies step up to support the special operations community

Las Vegas NV--October 19-23, 2015 -The annual meeting of the Special Operations Association (SOA) made up of former elite unit military personnel was held last month in Las Vegas. This special elite-member fraternal association provides college scholarships and other support for the family members of elite unit personnel killed in action.

Most SOA members have made personal donations over the years to support the association's good deeds. Take this year's annual meeting. This year two all-American-made companies stepped up and donated items for auction to raise money for the many good things the special Operations Association does for the families of fallen Green Berets, SEALs, Marine Recon and Air Force Para-Rescue men.

Charles Brown of MKS Supplywww.mkssupply.com donated a much-appreciated .45 caliber Hi-Point carbine, red dot sight and extra magazines. Brown says-- "My Company and I are strong supporters of our all-volunteer military and the families and love ones they leave behind to protect our country and freedoms, this donation was a no-brainer for us."

John Cammenga of White River Knives www.whiteriverknives.com donated three very special one of-a-kind semi-custom knives with the SOA logo laser-etched on the blades says-- "We couldn't be more honored than to have our knives auctioned at this event for these good causes."

These items were auctioned off at the association dinner which over 600 attended and fetched more than their retail values from the generous member buyers, all of whom have fought (and most of whom were wounded) in U.S. military special operations from WWII to the present.

Both Charles Brown at MKS Supply/Hi-Point Firearms and John Cammenga of White River Knives instantly offered these product donations when contacted for this event. And since both companies create and market all-American-made guns and knives, it was a "special operational fit" for the SOA, which of course appreciated the donations for SOA's good causes and there are no administrative costs, it all goes direct to the funding for the families of the fallen.

About the Special Operations Association: This may be the first time you have ever heard of SOA, which was established in 1977 and currently has about 1,800 members from several wars as far back as WWII. SOA stays fairly low-key, which reflects the personalities and profiles of the active members. To be a member, one must have done special or secret operations behind enemy lines in special units specifically tasked to do so. This means for example that not all Green Berets or Navy SEALs are qualified for membership; they must meet this and other stringent entry requirements. Most all SOA active members have been wounded in combat and most have also received commendations for heroism, including some members who earned and were awarded the Medal of Honor.
