The CZ 22 Mag Auto has a bit of appeal to me ......do you have any experience with that rifle?

I have a couple brno wmr, not sure if that counts! Mechanically awesome. Accuracy, it is a hunting gun. It is a struggle to hold 1" at 100yrds. Although, I am still trying different brands of ammo. Wmr around here is still sorta hard to find, limiting my choice and load work up.

Are you taking about the old take-down model? I had a chance at a used one years ago and didn't get it. Always regretted that. Very neat piece. Trick shot Tom Knapp had one that CZ gave to him, all pimped up with gold inlays and such.

No particular one but yes I remember the one Tom Knapp shot. It's a rifle not commonly seen around here and intrigues me. More research required on my part.

As I recall, Tom Knapp really liked that CZ and did some great shooting with it.
I wouldn't mind one.

My son has one in 22 lr that is one of the most accurate rim fires I've ever shot. Terrible trigger though.

Tom was a friend of mine, and that 22mag is the only one I ever saw that was successful. Why no one in this country can build a working semi-auto .22 mag is beyond me.... That was his prairie dog gun, and I promise you, even with the iron sights, no PDs were safe within 250 yards.... So yeah, the rifle was accurate, and functioned flawlessly. And I miss my old friend...

The CZ BRNO Model ZKM 611 is the 22 mag that Mr. Knapp shot. I have one, and it is a great rifle. I sent him an email or called him a long while back, maybe 2011 or 2012, and left a message that I was looing for magazines for mine. He called me and we had a great discussion - quite the gentleman. There wasn't much he could do for me, but he was super nice, and I really enjoyed the conversation. I was sad to see that he passed at such a young age (62).
I did find two 10-round magazines, in addition to my original 5-round mag, but the were expensive. Mine is death on Montana gophers!
Best of luck.

Never met him, but I miss his stuff on TV; such a contrast to all the ass-grabbing, bubba stuff.

Just found one one GB. NIB w/2 mags. $1499!! Don't like it quite that much.
Noticed it carried a Cherry's importer's mark on the left side of the receiver.

I searched long and hard for a wmr prior to choosing the 611. I almost went with a mag research but I had some concerns about safety with lighter bullets.( I guess there is some sort of pressure relief built in, etc. ) Anyway, I got a Bruno, then another. I think I have (3)6 rounders and one 10 round mag. Prices, around 1k each. I have never had a failure. That is surprising due to the wmr case. Maybe someday but they are reliable. I am bit over scoped with the Swarovski but it sure is clear. I see everything I miss! From my memory, there is a 611 and 611A. Mine are the (A). I guess there are slight differences.

I have the CZ 512 in .22 mag. It was great out of the box except for the trigger. Real bad. Local gunsmith took the pull from gritty 7lbs down to smooth 3lbs. It shoots right under MOA at 100 yards now.

I have a ZKM 611 I got several years ago at a gun show for $300. I don't think I would let it go for the GB price. I found it likes CCI part # 0023 TMJ rounds and is good for sub MOA consistently.

My cz 512 is impressive. Trigger is repulsive, but the rifle will hold 1 MOA at 100, for a 22 wmr semi, I can't ask for much more. $399 would be hard to pass up.

611A had some different internals, thinner barrel and different sights than the 611.
The 611 is considered the gem among 22WMR semi-autos.
I have one that I grabbed off one of the forums years ago for $600 and it included a VX-III 3-10 scope. Excellent shooter and so much fun to plink with.
The money they command today is insane. They are amazingly simple and reliable though.
