which ever one you carry and shoot best.

As noted handguns ain't worth a flip.

I'm carrying a 45 most of the time. But in our stupid heat, sometimes its better to carry a 380 kel tec....concealment and all.

I'm not dumb enough to carry open when its legal next year.

I dont' know of anyone that can't handle a 45 with enough shooting, and if you ain't shooting, you shouldn't be carrying anyway IMHO.

Wife shoots 45 /10mm/44 mag just fine.. Tiny thing she is...

This. Glock 17 9mm for me, carried IWB. Seems about ideal to me. With good modern loads, the bad guys won't be able to tell if they've been hit with a 9mm or a .45 ACP.

The Army and Marine guys coming back from combat in the middle east said the enemy could definitely tell the difference between being hit by a 9mm and a .45ACP.

This.

If you have not tried a Ruger LC9s, you're missing the boat.

45 230 XTP compared to 10mm 180 XTP obvious which which and a 9mm is even smaller diameter

I see your dilemma. The .40 S&W duplicates the ballistics of the .38-40, the .45ACP duplicates the ballistics of the .45 Colt.
Both newcomers when TLEE was a rookie. grin

Personally, I carry a bastard creation I built with a Springfield Armory (SA) Officers Model frame and a SA Commander length slide, bushingless barrel, and a Gunsite lowered thumb safety.

Oh, .45ACP of course. grin

With wintertime cloths, I carry a Springfield Champion Operator .45.

Summertime, when I am dressed like the cheap whore that I am, I carry a Ruger LCP in .38 +P.

I've always carried the gun I want to have in a gunfight, not something that 100% didn't imprint. The .25s and .32 ACPs...not even interested in carrying them, no matter how concealable they are. The .38 is a little smaller than I would like, but carrying my .45 with shorts and a short sleeve shirt on it would be considered much more open carry.

Been looking at getting another Para Ordinance .45 LDA. Love the double action trigger.

Which always seems to be a Glock 23 in 40 S&W for me.

What's the difference between a .45, a .40 and 9mm with regards to "concealment, or stopping power"?

I think it more of a matter of what fits you best and the 45 vs 40 really isn't all that big of a deal. I like the feel and handling of the 1911 so that is what I carry all day, every day and I carry a 45 because I like a 45.
