Have you won? Oh yeah-trillions. We just burn the bundles of 100's in stead of cutting firewood.

The only people winning the lottery are those not playing.. I knew a guy who hit it for $13+ million...& ya can't win if you don't play....that said, I've probably spent $10 in the last year & NO I don't expect to win...but I haven't been hit by lightning either...I expect that doubles my odds of at least one of those events happening...

Odd's? I am 70 years old and think the odds of a pair of 21 year old twin beauties asking me to a night out exceed greatly over winning the lottery big time. GW

You're more apt to hit it big if you take out lightning insurance on yourself.

Powerball and Mega-Millions when the pot is over $100M.
No, I don't expect to win, but I have a fun to play with EXCEL file with the details of the charitable foundation that I'd form if I did.

The lottery is a tax on those who can't do math That would be fine if it cut down on the taxes for the rest of us.

The lottery is a tax on those who can't do math I'm 64 and never bought a lottery ticket in my life. Weekly where I buy gas I watch those ahead of me in line at the cash register. They buy $10 in gas for their POS car, a couple packs of cigs and a handful of lottery tickets. It's their money but talk about is placed priorities Couple of my friends buy tickets when the purse is high. They alway tell me " you cant win if you don't play" I tell them " I passed third grade math"

If you put away $100 a month that you'd planned to spend on lottery tickets, at the end of the year you'll have $1200 - guaranteed.
I don't consider gambling to be any kind of mortal sin. As long as you have the money to spend and don't starve the kids it's no different than spending it on anything else that you consider fun. However, it just doesn't make sense to spend it on something with such a low rate of return. Usually you have nothing to show for it. At least buying a gun gives you something in return.

I dont play the powerball and such, just the Millionaire Raffle here in PA that they do 2-3 times a year. Won $100 this last time around, never before. I was hooked on scratch offs a couple years ago. Seemed I couldnt lose. Won at least $500 every month that year. Won over 10 grand total. But I have $7000 worth of losing tickets stacked in the closet reminding me how much I spent that year too. Still ahead but I had to stop that schit, very addicting. Slots though, theyre hard to give up If I wasnt broke from being sick I sure would from slots...id be down there all the time if I could.

It's their money but talk about misplaced priorities ... And, I'll bet they've got a cell phone and plan that costs more than their car, gas, cigs, and tickets combined.
