Hello,

First time poster that finds this site amazing!!! Plan to post often.

Anyways, I would like to see pictures of McMillan stocks Winchester 70's preferably any big bores. I have just purchased a new Safari Express 375 H&H and have a plan to order a Super Grade McWoody stock, but would like to see pictures and get any feedback your willing to share. I am hoping this route saves me weight and gives me a better rough weather option.

Can't help you at all, all my M70's are in Edge fill stocks and medium bores. You're going to need the standard or magnum fill which I seriously doubt saves you a lot of weight. However, the durability and stability of your stock will improve.

I've got a supergrade stock on a #5 barrel right now. I'll see if my 375 action will drop in tonight or tomorrow and take pics if it will. For now, here's a pic of my .264 WM that Lee "Redneck" Christianson built for me.

That's a 26" #5 Pac-Nor with a 1.25" cylinder length.

I wish that the other thread had pictures like these. I'm more worried about how the stock looks from front top etc than how long the grip is or how much drop the comb has. You can't fix a disproportionate forearm with another set of scope rings, if you get what I mean. Nice pics x2.

OK. I managed to get some new pics, using the Super Express action and barrel. Unfortunately, it wouldn't fit down in to the stock due to the short cylinder inlet for my 264 WM but I think it is close enough to get the idea on what you're looking for. This is pic heavy as I wanted to give you a good feel for the forearm fit. As it turned out the stocks are both right at 10" long in front of the action. The Super Express .375 barrel measures right at .865 at that point and the Pac-Nor #5 on my 264 measures .850, so they're pretty close.

Clancy, agreed. I own one McMillan that I'm not really happy with for that reason. Didn't understand how wide the forearm was going to be.
