The Kid, I am on one of the many islands in the pacific northwest. There are no mountain lions or coyotes here to kill the coons. There are coons, rats, mice, squirrels, nutria, owls, eagles,.... and sometimes a herd of deer swim here and then get hit by a cars. These are black tail deer, and the does are smarter than the bucks when it comes to cars.
5 miles from here across the water on the mainland, the coon population is lower. Raising chickens here is very different from the mainland. Over there coyotes are a problem all day. Coons can't catch a hen in the daytime. Many people have chickens here and lock them up at night so the coons don't get them.
Everyone here complains about rats and coons. They all have guards on the chimneys to keep them from nesting in there.

Amazing! Sounds like paradise for a young boy with a 22, or a man young at heart with a 22.
BTW A very good friend of mine used to live on a small island off the coast of Washington back in the late 60's and early 70's. I'm not sure which island it was but he has some pretty good stories of wild times with one cop for the whole island.
I would think that the rodents and the people of CO would be hibernating, if it is that cold.

I got lucky this morning. Right in front of my lathe.

Sounds like Guemes Island. Still only one cop. Still growing sheit loads of ganja too. Rumor has it the whole island was raided by the DEA in the 70's since everyone was growing pot.
Not a bad day of calling yesterday although I must say I'm getting really sick of mange and cant wait till it cycles out of northeastern Colorado..
Ended the day with this bobtail. Unfortunately its size was rather deceiving and there wasnt anything around the cat to reference it to. Had I known it probably would have got a pass, small size, decent spots but its belly is casty. Will just add it to the personal collection, worth more to me than what auction will give.
No task is half-a$$ed more than the spelling of Creedmoor...
Laker, Your Creedmoor is so clean, it looks like it was photoshopped next to the yote.
