I'll add my 'new' one to the mix. 'Old' school Bisley Vaquero in 44 Magnum

Very nice - are those grips from the local guy you've been using? The frame coloring looks better than most - has it been redone?

Negative on the grips, I've been lugging them around for YEARS. They were on a Bisley in 45 Colt I had 15 years ago but sold. I obviously kept the grips and they've hung around several moves to Alaska and back.

No idea on the other, it's pretty much NIB.

Since old Vaqueros are being discussed, Ed has highjacked with the big 500, and Travis showed off his Eagle Grips' Ultra Ivory, I'll tack on an old model Vaquero with Ultra Ivory, though in 45 Colt.

I can answer on the color case since I know the origin of the gun. It was bought with a multi gun estate that included several very collectible Rugers and S&W's that the deceased bought new and stored away. The best example was a 4-digit Ruger No. 1 in 25-06 that was in the original box (early '70's).

It was not recolored. My bet is that it was handpicked for the vibrant colors. I have seen a few other Bisley Vaqueros with pretty coloring and they were probably from the same era. Scott's 4-3/4" 44 Mag Bisley Vaquero is a rare gun.

Besides,

To paraphrase Cooper, "There is not much a man can't do with $600 and a .44 mag.".
