I just got back from a week of bow hunting in the U P of Michigan. Six guys took six deer with traditional equiptment. One of them was on crutches (the guy not the deer) .. This is an anual hunt that weve been doing for ten years now. Its a great time with a great bunch of guys.

That is the coolest hunting photo I've seen in a long time. Reminds me of the old black and white photos from long ago market hunters. Thats a pile of meat. Your successes with that choice of weapon illustrates your hunting skills. great job!!
Q- Why do you use that bow? A- If I have to tell you, you wouldn't understand.

Great pic!!! I gave up the tree stand 7 years ago. It's fun to just walk around. My bow kill this year was less than 20 yards as well. What a great looking bunch of guys!!!

Ron is the designer and brain behind the Super Shrew longbow. All the fellas in that picture are likely shooting some flavor of his Shrew Bows. I recently acquired a Shrew longbow and it has quickly become my go to stickbow.

Great picture!
I've had a couple of your bows, can't remember the names now...one was short, about 60" or so. with black glass. It was a great bow and handy for the woods, narrow limbs.
I started making my own wooden bows, and that was fun. But now I have a couple of glass bows in my bow-battery, a recurve and a R/D longbow.
I'm out of shape for bow shooting. Nearly ruined by bow arm from too much weight, and now I don't shoot enough to hunt. My bows are in the 50-55 # range, which is plenty so far as I'm concerned. But it's like riding a bicycle, it's a skill that comes back to you with just a little practice.
Nice deer there in upper Michigan!

Doug, that's Dolly my 1 1/2 year old beagle. She became the camp hero when she ran off a bear one night that came in to check out our deer pole. She may be small but she's got a big voice TackDriver, the hawk is my "Shrew Hawk" that can be found on my web site. It's a very handy light weight tool.
