I've got an older Redhead safe with the old fashioned combo lock and will never have one with the electronic keypad. I've read to many reviews of gun safes whose keypads have shot craps and you cant get into your safe without the aid of a professional to drill out the lock and ruining your safe. Sure the keypads might be quicker but I dont mind spending a few extra seconds turning a knob and a combo lock will last virtually forever with some routine maintenance. Like most locksmiths will tell you, its not IF a keypad will fail, its just a matter of WHEN.
