Doesn't seem that way. The fact that you posted a thread clearly suggests otherwise, and basically says this guy is currently living rent free in your head.

I know this isn't the common "feeling" on the matter, but being the first to post "I'll take it" means absolutely nothing. Period. The seller is free to sell to whomever he sees fit. The classifieds section isn't Wal Mart on Black Friday, so give that notion up.

Look at it this way. Let's say I post an item for sale one evening, and finally get a chance to check my emails a couple hours later. While checking those emails, I see I have 2 messages saying "I'll take it" on the item I posted. The 1st one is from a guy who just joined the forum, and the 2nd is from someone I'm familiar with on the forum and someone I have done deals with in the past. Guess who I am going to sell to??

Your choice, but a bullsheit way to do it.

I'd tell the guy that I've done business with that someone got there before him. I'll also tell him if the deal falls through it's his. Since I know him and he knows me, everyone would be 'happy'

Just put the fool on your "Ignore User" list and move on.

I do it all the time with various jackoffs, fools and cyber pussies. Life is far too short to be bothered by some sissy that will type something... or ignore something on a computer keyboard that he/she wouldn't have the balls to say/do to you face to face.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Joel,

So why have pm's ?

Let's just start posting our name, email address, phone numbers, home address in the threads, and offers in the threads ?

Oh yea, when someone posts an offer in a thread they get hammered, and rightly so.

I've had "drive by" I'll take it's in a thread, only to never have a follow up pm...

It's simple, two paths for communication on these chat rooms, threads, PM's...get it ?

The list keeps growing....

Tony

Nonsense. This is not some moral or ethical dilemma, despite all your insistence otherwise. The seller has the ultimate say, not the first person to raise their hand, send up a smoke signal, or type "I'll take it" before someone else. Now, in a perfect world, it would be a reasonable thing to do...but with the anonymity of the internet, its not always the prudent thing to do.

Don't see a problem. You sold stock/barrel as one, Tony only wanted the barrel. You didn't split it as barrel only.

I see no issue either since he offered the stock and the barrel together and not separately.

Stock and barrel $675 shipped and insured.

What if both the stock and barrel were claimed via pm earlier?

Then the OP would be stating that. Also, Wolverine looks to be offering the OP a chance to buy the takeoff. So Wolverine understood it was a combo and paid for more than he wanted. My guess is the OP thinks Wolverine's price for the takeoff seems high to the OP.
