Bernie Sanders has made Iowa interesting. However, this was not in the script! Hillary was supposed to walk through the Primaries and have her Dem rivals vanquished early on, being the token competition that they are. She planned to have the ability to save her money, and gloat on while the GOP had a mudslinging contest destroying one antoher.
That was the script in 2008, when unknown Barack Obama burst on the scene to make her life miserable, and ultimately defeat her. The Clinton Machine and the Dem Party wanted to make sure that doesn't happen this time around, but there is trouble. Bernie has made Iowa close, so what would a Sanders Victory in NH mean to Clinton?
Headaches. Short of an DOJ indictment, she will ultimately be the Dem nominee. At some point, she and the Party are going to have to face up to the fact that a significant portion of the voters just don't like her. She is shrill, ruthless, self serving, corrupt, and it shows. People can see it, even liberals can see it.
Hillary is not the bulletproof candidate some thought. This is the second election we are seeing that. Doubt will begin to pervade her campaign. The more she has to work and sweat in the Primaries, the weaker she will become. Contrast with any of the GOP candidates that will be strengthened by a good Primary battle. They get more exposure, better name recognition, and will be seen as a worthy alternative to the one candidate that is truly loathsome.
This was not a good not for Clinton, and that makes me smile.

Yes the choice for dems right now is between radical socialism and extreme socialism. We will eventually see if the "takers" outnumber the "producers". If they do, then the last nail has been pounded.

Dems will hold their nose and vote for Hillary like we'd hold our nose and vote for Trump, they'll vote for whomever wins the "D" nomination. It will all come down to a handful of swing states again. The rest of this is just pageantry..

I've been wondering for some time if Hitlery's poll numbers and an indictment aren't linked. Like, should she be totally blown out early on, it would be awfully hard for the Dems to annoint her their nominee without causing a riot. So they would lose nothing by indicting her and could gain some "credibility" with their Bernie voters.

An even split between a socialist and a criminal.
And either one will be tough, if not impossible to beat in the general election.

I don't think either will be tough to beat if the right GOP candidate runs the right campaign. They will need to press Hillary and keep the pressure on her until she melts into hysterics. Bernie's weakness is the absurdity of his positions.

Bernie's weakness is the absurdity of his positions. The problem I see is the GOP may not have the right candidate to pick up some of the votes in the middle. In the end it's the votes in the middle that count the most.

I like to ask them what they believe will happen in the civil war that follows.

Sanders will win NH and then drop off the face of the earth. This is essentially what will happen. And if Cruz, Trump, or Rubio get the RNC nomination, Hillary will be the POTUS...

Her legal issues are not going away and will only drag her down more. Trump's time is over. Serious voters have heard him and much smarter convincing voices in Cruz and Rubio. The trumpetts had their moment but when the real voting started, reality gave way to BS and fantasy.

Imagine if you show a young voter, who cannot name the current VP, a pic of Bernie and a pic of Rubio.
Who do you want for Pres? The young idiot will pick Rubio every time.

Sanders will win NH and then drop off the face of the earth. I don't think so. He's become the hero of the young loony left, and the older Dems are holding their collective noses to pull the lever for Hitlery. I think he'll be strong in states like Colorado, Oregon, Washington etc where the young, entitled, liberal loons are present in large numbers.

First, the title of the thread: Sanders strong showing not good for Clinton.
Well, not only is it not good for Clinton; but, it is frightening for our country. A self-proclaimed socialist is so accepted. Hey, he's no different than Hillary, he just admits it. At least in the past, supporters of these socialists have been able to claim denial of socialist status if by nothing than the name "democrat" alone.
As to if Cruz, Rubio or Trump get the nomination, it would make Hillary a shoe-in for President, I disagree strongly. That "may" apply to Trump; however, I think if the Republican party were to nominate Cruze, he would be a slam dunk. I think if the Republican party were to nominate Rubio, he would not be a slam dunk; but, I think he would be the odds on favorite at the time of the election.

My hope is that Bernie keeps Hillary tied up and engaged late into the Spring. That costs her time and money. It exposes her flaws to a wider audience. She can only hide them for so long.
Sooner or later Harry Reid and the Party will call Bernie off the trail, UNLESS she gets indicted or polls poorly, then all bets are off.
