Surprise! mad

Well, not really.

http://news.yahoo.com/obama-seek-tax-oil-budget-proposal-203012435--business.html

Quote
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama will launch a long-shot bid next week to impose a $10-a-barrel tax on crude oil that would fund the overhaul of the nation's aging transportation infrastructure, the White House said on Thursday.

The proposed fee, which would be paid by oil companies and phased in over five years, was quickly met with scorn by lawmakers in the Republican-controlled Congress.

In the last year of his presidency, Obama has said the country must stop subsidizing the "dirty" fossil fuels of the past and focus on clean, renewable fuels that do not exacerbate climate change.

I thought that our nation's aging transportation infrastructure was where all those "shovel ready jobs" were gonna be when that great economic stimulus package got going. Remember that one? I forgot how many million or billion it was but I'd still like to know where the hell all the money went. But now I'm just spouting a lot of right wing extremist hate speech, ain't I?

It may not make much difference in what you pay per gallon right now, but when gas goes to $4 a gallon again, it makes a big difference.

Anything that fugger can do to destroy America, and it's industry, he will try.

Liberals have always loved "sin" taxes. You MF's should just ride your bicycle or take the subway.

The only thing worse than a liberal is a liberal that thinks they're a conservative.

Not... It will fully be passed on to you and me in the form of about 30-40cpg gasoline/diesel price increase.

GEEEEZZZ! It's already taxed at the pump. We get taxed on income and again when we buy fuel. If one adds more locations as we spend then maybe we won't notice that our dollars are simply vaporizing. I suspect food and medicine will be next. The message of less government simply can't sink in.

Anyone see the day where we just work and the government will fulfill our needs?

Reference the Fed negative interest rate thread. Coming sooner than you think.

State and federal taxes are already in excess of 40 cents per gallon here.

And THAT tax is supposed to be paying for roads and bridges...

WTF are they spending THAT money on?

With 40 gallons to one barrel, that is another .25 cents tax on the already .27 cents tax the Feds impose on gasoline (.34diesel). Then add your state tax on top of that.
Any non-RINO republicans should hold a news conference and declare this proposal DOA - just like Reid and Peelosi do.
