Me and my circle of 10 hunting friends put in spread out over 3 different apps.
it would be my nephew's first time ever hunting big game and several of the other guys are quite new...
Hopefully someone will get drawn!

I put in for early rifle hunts, I have enough points to draw archery in 3C but the season starts on the 9th because of leap year, that one extra day screwed it out of being the 16th. Next year it's the 15th. Last year it was on the 11th, hot and slow rutting.

The kids and I are in but there are no guarantees this year. We are NR's with a points but the change to only up to 5% NR in the bonus pass may change things. One of us would have had enough to draw an archery tag in the bonus pass and the rest of us we right on the edge. We'll see when the results come out. Time to figure out what to do on NM, Utah,NV, CA and maybe CO.

Kent I agree next year should be just right for some really good rutting action! Early rifle for me this year with 19 points!

In for BP's only this year.
MRI of back scheduled next week. Didn't want to burn a tag if the results of image don't look good for hunting elk this year.
Pretty bummed too as I had the Xray leading to the request for MRI right before I was ready to leave for the HAM hunt this week. Wife and I figured it would be "conservative" to refrain from hiking up and down prickly pear, cat claw covered hillsides with a 20 lb daypack hoping to whack a pig and having to carry that out too.
Hoping the MRI shows I can get back to work as planned in mid-March.
Getting old sometimes sucks, especially when it impacts my hunting.

Sure will. Almost tempted to try and bring him so he can tell the story to you guys on how he knocked himself out being a goof. lol I printed out his CHAMP and cross bow apps so he can go see the doc. sure would be nice if he qual'd for both. BTW I text you Kent

When will they do the draw and start hitting CCs? I looked through old posts and seems like mid-march? It'll be over before deer apps are due I'm assuming.
