I spent last evening just reading the accompanying literature and looking at things. Just had to tell some one. It was a 23 month wait. A first for me, so I will likely be here with a ton of questions in the near future. I'll need to talk with folks about dies, bullets, and loading for a while before I can get out and launch some pumpkins. 1Minute

1Minute,

I have been wanting to order me a Sharps, either Shiloh or C. Sharps. Any recommendations or pros / cons for these two companies. Hard to decide which one. Thank you...Bill.

I have a saddle rifle from them in 45-70 that will be passed on to my daughter when I go! Love mine and I am sure you will yours too! TM

1Minute...........congradulations, you won't be dissapointed.
The Shilo is a better Sharps than the originals were.

Just got my #1 in 45-70 last week. Funny, it only took 15 months to get mine. I haven't dealt with C. Sharps, but the folks at Shiloh were very helpful and very patient while I decided on what to order. They had Tom Selleck's rifle from Crossfire trail in there at the time. I was unable to find one with proper fit so they said to try his. I was astonished to say the least, but did not refuse and it fit like a glove. I am pretty sure you can depend on Shiloh.

Being a 1 timer, I actually have no significant experience with either company. My thoughts were simply that a Shiloh would likely hold its value better than any other maker. Half of the justification for the purchase was that it will likely become more valuable with the passage of time. The few shooters that I actually talked with had Shiloh's, C-Sharps, and Pedersoli's (sp?). Most agreed that all were indeed quite functional, but the Shiloh's just looked to be slightly finer weapons than the other two brands. I would rank the Pedersoli's 3rd in fit and finish. As to dealings with the company, they were positive and professional for the most part. The rifle is indeed beautiful with top quality wood, fit, and finish. My only criticism comes mostly from a lack of communication on their part when projected deadlines arrived and passed. In each instance, I had to call to see what was up. Anticipated completion dates were March 06, August 06, and Oct 06. With my last call, the rifle was complete but sights were back ordered. I was a bit miffed with that, as I had fronted all the money with my initial order. They would not have been out any of their own $$$ to have ordered the sights then. Still, I feel it will be one of my greatest treasures and have no regrets. Now I just need to get out and light a few off. I'll be back, 1Minute

Congratulations, not only for getting a Shiloh, but for choosing a sensible caliber. Too many new BPCR shooters get the black powder equivalent of magnumitis and order a .45-110 or even a .45-120. A mistake in most cases.

I've shot a Shiloh and I'd strongly consider one of these...

Not as sexy, but fantastic looking and shooting rifles without a wait.

1minute,

Congradulations on a fine rifle.......but be careful...Those Shilohs tend to multiply very fast.. ...They hate to be all alone for very long. I'm guessing that a 45-110, 50-70, or a 44-77 will show up very shortly...or maybe a 50-90, 40-70ss, 38-55...etc.

Now quit fondeling that rifle and tell us how good it shoots (w/ black powder of course)

Hiwallman
